Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment
Whether you plan to access therapy with Continuum Mental Health Services, or follow up with another provider, you can be assured that you will receive a thorough assessment. We will not try to sell therapy to you, but provide information regarding treatment options you can pursue, whether with us, or someone else. We will work with your therapist or physician as a comprehensive team to meet your family's needs. You are the expert on your family, and you make the decisions. We will help answer your questions regarding therapy and medications, and help you decide if the misbehavior is normal acting out, or problematic requiring treatment.
Individual or Family Therapy
Should you decide to work with us toward your therapeutic goals we will apply the best evidence-informed practices. Progress will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and will be refined as needed. Complex cases require adaptability and a willingness to re-evaluate the plan. We are in the trenches with you! We do not give up, and we know every problem does have a solution. You make the decisions for your family. Think of us as your navigator to help you see options that are not immediately obvious. Therapy typically requires twelve 1.5 hour sessions over 6 to 9 months, but there is variability and flexibility. If your child refuses to attend, do not worry, I have personally treated many kids
who have refused therapy. One motivated family member is all that is needed to get started.
Non-Clinical Support
We understand that life stresses can interfere with a successful treatment. We can offer help with many of those stresses. Whether it is budgeting / planning, insurance forms, government or other agency forms, or coordinating the services you may be trying to access. We want to do all that we can to eliminate any barrier blocking you from your goals.
